The majority of infections happen when people spend a prolonged time period within 1m of someone who is infectious. For most people that is most likely to happen within a family / friends home, but is also common in workplaces like factories, where social distancing is challenging.

School age kids are the group least likely to pass it on via community transmission in any setting. There's some evidence to suggest that the number of coughs/colds that kids typically have means their immune system is better prepared to fight the virus.

Universities have a major problem, but the cause is the same - people spending prolonged time periods within 1m of each other.
Source please?
Everything I've read suggests that viral load in school age children doesn't differ significantly from any other age group. Therefore transmission is just by them is just as likely as anyone else. It's just that kids tend only to have mild or no symptoms, except in rare cases. That does mean that they tend to cough less but otherwise they are just as infectious.
If you've seen something different I really want to read it.

Today’s Scottish govt paper is about as close as you will get to a summary of the real evidence on transmission in various circumstances. The UK govt management of this pandemic is beyond embarrassing.

Without wanting to turn this into the lockdown thread, the latest PHE report (weekly) issued today showed that out of 750 odd outbreaks (2 or more cases) in the week to 24th Sept, over 1/3 were in schools, 1/4 in workplaces, 1/5 in care homes and less than 1 in 25 in hospitality. Not sure why they are therefore shutting the pubs.

Needless to say 0 were in sports stadia.

How do they know that the cases in schools, workplaces (isn't a pub a workplace) and care homes didn't originate in hospitality?

And 0 in sports stadia? Well then keeping them closed is obviously working, isn't it?

The obvious conclusion to draw from your final remark is that football at our level is finished...The end result of nothing is nothing.

I don't know how they know. There is a long detailled report packed with data. By the same token how do they know that cases in a schools didnt originate in Nando's? Or cases in Nando's didn't originate in university hall

Obv my stadia statement was tongue in cheek. Maybe if stadia were open people wouldn't be packed in pubs or crowded round the TV so much.

It's all a bit of a pantomime.
Oh no it isn't.
Oh yes it is.
