Must ‘fess up to nodding off while watching Van Der Valk on TP last night. :(
My father did that once while watching "The Big Sleep"! :)

On Sunday 18th September 1977 the first edition of ‘It’ll Be Alright On The Night’ was broadcast.
It was a surprisingly(at the time)popular programme presented by Denis Norden.
Until then outtakes we not considered for public viewing because they were considered unprofessional.
The programme was a one off initially but was so well received many more were made over the following years.View attachment 3536View attachment 3537
Still going with Griff Rhys-Jones I think. People have always liked to see others messing up. Most of the studio audience of Red Dwarf go as much for the Smeg Ups as the show 🙂

And out of the 90,000+ that surrended, Only 5,000 made it home, Some 10-12 years later.
Which brings us round to another German war film worth seeing , As Far as my Feet will Carry Me. A German officer’s escape from a Siberian Gulag.Well worth a watch , subtitles and all.

An iconic show that others have tried to follow, IMO only Later with Jools Holland gets close but even that can't compare to it's basic rawness which made it so good to watch.
