I understand the question, but I would offer its more about what we are doing right. Big crowds, the Club investing in the development of the team, consistency in the Management group, the success of the SJP fixtures and strong Community engagement from the team. Exeter City has become an...
It would be great to see as many supporters at the Final as possible. As it's been a long time since we have all been able to attend an Exeter City game, this is a chance to come and watch a competitive Devon Derby and perhaps see the team lift a trophy.
The Development Team also have a BIG...
Was there an issue last season? Dara got a chance and took it, he become too good to drop. Unfortunate for Martin but I'm not convinced there was a fall out
This is where the communication aspect comes in. A manager and squad aiming for promotion is nothing new, most of the 92 EFL clubs will tout the similar hot air over the summer, but having expectations and then judging someones work on the tools they have at their disposal are slightly different...
I don't disagree. However the surprise he felt over his notice being given, results and table position at the time would have put any manager under pressure, and subsequent interviews have given the impression that he was working under the remit of longer term growth being more valuable than...
Entertaining football and results are surely easier to achieve with a bigger budget? Sales of Grimes and Watkins have led to an increase in budget and we've had two good season off the back of it. It is often talked about the mediocre years of mid table finishes but they were reflective of the...
During that time did the football club come up with any ways to assist the manager during that lean period, or did we sit back and wait for the next bus to turn up? I'd say over his tenure generating money through producing and improving players rates us as good as any club around. Compare our...
Club is at a crossroad. And the points that Tisdale is making are ones that need to be faced.
When we he took over we sold key players to Torquay after a PO final defeat, he restructured the team and got us promoted.
After promotion from League Two, we sold key players and used the money to...
Has this thread been bumped back to the top from last year, or the year before that....or the year before that.
Every season at about this time Tisdale claims poverty so that any players starting to desperately seek work for this year don't ask for to much money. Our budget was totally spent...
Plenty of smiles from McCormick yesterday, kissing the badge, sharing a joke about the abuse with the two centre halves on the way to the goal before kick off... the guy seems to actually quite enjoy it... and if that isn't a big enough reason to stop then I don't know what is.
The grey area in this debate has to be the redevelopment. If money gained over the last two years is being invested in better training facilities and a new stand then I can live with the current lack of ambition with regard the first team. However, if the club is in a position where receiving...
I am a big Noble fan and was sad to see him go but I can understand it if we have a younger replacement coming in to move things forward, sadly that doesn't seem to be the case. James looks fine, time will tell, but I don't see any great upgrade in that area and we just look light on numbers.
Lack of midfield cover is a worry for me.
Harley out yesterday so Ollie Watkins played CM, never want to see that, such an influence going forward he is wasted in there. Tillson and Byrne not competent replacements for James and Harley as yet and we look short of quality in this area.
Another...
Massive Curo fan so heart says yes, head says no.
Could do a job from the bench undoubtedly but with Reid, Wheeler, Taylor & Watkins all much younger options to support McAlinden or Simpson its just not an appropriate use of budget ;(
Cant see it. No manager, unless you are nearing retirement age, appoints someone with the view to succeeding him. I can just imagine Tullys name being sung if we go on a dodgy run.. Plus Tully has earned his own respect, done a great job at Truro and I am sure will not be short of offers to manage.
Id argue the first team squad currently looks like this with the rest heading out on loan. Lots of cover and competition up top but struggling for cover and, most importantly, quality at the back.
Like to see two full backs and a central midfielder at least.
