Trouble is Rosey, the other lot seem just as useless to me. :(

Indo will be along in a minute to box my ears and telling me I cannot make that judgment until they are given a chance. :)
They have a few with some integrity which is a start Nandy, Cooper, Jarvis, Streeting. I am also one of the few that doesn't mind Jess Phillips. The fact that they stand out among those others you would run away from if in power does show a paucity of talent.

Jess is too gobby for me. Not sure she has ministerial qualities. Dan Jarvis and Wes Streeting might. Nandy and Cooper safe pairs of hands in the mould of say Margaret Beckett.

How is it going with the vaccine roll-out? My brother, who is in his mid-60s will get his vaccine tomorrow from the St Thomas surgery. Older brother who is with Exminster for the roll-out is expecting to be weeks away.

Wow. That's good going. My partners mum is late 70's and lives in Rotherham. She's not had any jab yet. My mum is early 70's and not had hers yet either in Derbyshire.

I was a fan of Nandy's until she came up with this woke claptrap yesterday: Labour’s Nandy mocked for backing call to change army to ‘gender balanced security force’ | World | News - News Chant UK

Good God, they're really not wanting to ever be elected are they.

My mum, aged 72, had hers at St Thomas surgery yesterday and said there was a steady stream of people going in.

I had an email this morning telling me i was able to book an appointment for mine. The spelling mistakes suggested it wasn't genuine.

Regarding the NHS. Shocked to see a story today of a woman who was told she had cancer, endured multiple treatments including chemo etc, lost her job and suffered greatly mentally and then got told by another doctor that she didn't have cancer after all, but something else.

She was awarded just over 75k in compensation, which i find insulting.

To balance it out however, my GP rang me today out of the blue to check if i was ok and to give me an update on my blood tests and referral to a specialist rheumatology centre in the North West that specifically deal with auto immune and rare genetic conditions. Really appreciated that.

In addition, i rang the secretary of the surgeon who is doing my hernia surgery at a North East hospital who was back off annual leave to clarify some outstanding questions i had and to confirm my appointment details etc and she was really helpful.

On the flipside of that, i rang Cambridge Addenbrookes hospital the other day about another referral and spoke to a member of the reception team who was really unhelpful, inaudible and could barely string a sentence together.

I guess it's swings and roundabouts and what i have learned to do now is to highlight something i'm not happy with as and when it happens instead of taking the complaint home with me and festering with it which is what i usually do and making myself and the situation worse. If you mention something you aren't happy with at the time it happens, for example me requesting to speak to a different reception person rather than have to put up with one who clearly isn't up to the job on that particular call, then it can lead to far less stress and a problem being rectified straight away rather than it lead to further stress and complications down the line.

I was harsh on the NHS overall. In the main it's fantastic and has some fantastic people going beyond the call of duty and perhaps it's more helpful for me to address the individuals concerned with regards to anything i'm not happy with rather than let frustration and anger impair my view of the whole organization, unfairly. Treat as you find in other words.

So, we've got a day out to Whitley Bay next week as a family to stretch our legs before heading off to the hospital for the appointment. Then driving home again. All completely socially distanced of course.

Blood tests at the doctors and hospital appointments are the new going out!! :D

I think today it finally feels that i am moving forward with my treatment under the NHS which has been stuttering and stalling for far too long, even before Covid and come the summer i hope t be in a massively better place - even IF restrictions are still here. Fingers crossed.

Good for your Mum.

I wonder how many people are missing genuine appointments because they think it's a scam.
