The start of a long period of WI dominance in Test Cricket & England in particular. The Winter Tour(80/81) of the Caribbean was a dreadful not just on the pitch. Ken Barringtons untimely death plus the Test in Guyana cancelled over Robin Jackmans inclusion. Just as well there was not wall to wall coverage as we have today.No fun for England's batsmen in the test series, having to face the WI quicks.
Was that really 1980. I'm just amazed how little TV there was on. Open University, sport, and very little else. And this was before VCRs. Kids today don't know they're born.10th July 1980.
