Should we believe that we can't find a GK who is an improvement on our current first choice.

What's this obsession with worry in so many quarters on here? 🙄
Best not post in this thread, it’s called discussion

Should we start to worry/think MT is worried about the keeper position if Scott Brown plays tomorrow?
I’ll be even more worried if it’s the Heavitree United keeper.

I wouldn't worry, think Heavitree pay pretty well these days and he doesn't like living in Devon.

Tisdale regularly waited until late on and freely admitted he’d do it deliberately to get what he felt was the best players when they’d run out of options (often for fitness reasons). You’d get gems but then his teams were often full of good footballers that weren’t played to a specific position because he’d picked them up for ability alone.

Taylor has, in every window so far been far more focussed on specialist for where he needs them in the system. He identifies what he wants and has, in the main , got his best players in “early”. Certainly not end of August//September.
I largely agree. Clearly we have missed out on some of those primary targets this time around. The choice now appears to be sign players today that will not improve us, or hold off for a little more quality. Which would you choose?

I don’t think it’s necessarily a case of get players now = they won’t improve us. I’m sure there’s lots of players that would be available that would improve us, even if it’s purely in depth. I would be looking to get in an effective runner to cover Nombe up front as well as a wing back back up.

Goalkeeper and midfield is where I think we really need that quality boost. Being mugged off by Bishop and now Bristol City had put us in a very tight spot for that but I wouldn’t panic and go with Bass. At this point im sure Taylor is working his arse off to try and find that GK.

That was my poor attempt at a joke , could just as soon have said the Colyton keeper.

I still think we ought to ask Jamie Cureton to come out of retirement.
