His base might be angry now, but as I've said many a time the right are much more able to hold their nose and vote for what they perceive as the lesser of several evils. You only have to witness the number of remain supporting conservatives who still turned out in force for Johnson in December.

Although I think there is a fair chance he may not contest the next election. In the end Cummings may well do more damage to Johnson in regards to the parliamentary party than the electorate.
The a base which I was referring to is not the traditional right which is used to holding its nose. It's more the "temporary Tavy right" whose specialist subject is nursing grievances

Don't know if this has been mentioned today or the case is remembered, but looks like Cummings is in the shyte again .....
Not until December, alas

According to surveys conducted on behalf of the University of Oxford’s Reuters Institute by YouGov, less than half of Britons now trust the Westminster government to provide correct information on the pandemic – down from more than two-thirds of the public in mid-April.

“I have never in 10 years of research in this area seen a drop in trust like what we have seen for the UK government in the course of six weeks,” said the institute’s director, Rasmus Kleis Nielsen.

I don't like to speak about Tavers behind his back as it were, but are you doing him a disservice by referring to the "temporary" Tavy right? Or have I not got your drift? I would have thought it was permanent.

I think it will be a while before the effects (good or bad) of Brexit are seen.....the CV has added another spanner in the works - to which both sides are already using to suit its own arguments.....
I disagree 😀

By and large my side has accepted ‘contract exchange’, it’s now done and dusted, legally binding.

The Covid response merely confirms what my side has been claiming throughout the past 5 years; the ineptitude and dishonesty of the Johnson cabal.

My side questions the wisdom of leaving the EU without a deal, always has done, it has nothing to do with Covid.

If (big "if) a foolproof vaccine is discovered and if (big "if").....
Bad form to talk about somebody behind their back (waves at our Jase) .... remember back in February when the Tory fanboy reassured us all that a vaccine was only 3 weeks away.... 🤣

Problem is there are a lot of these. Germany, the Dutch and the Scandinavians are going to have to pay for it and the Bundesbank has already issued a big 'Nein' to the most recent plan.
Austria, Denmark, Netherlands and Sweden are the so called "Frugal Four" who are rearing up at the idea of baling out the more profligate member states. And has not the German Constitutional Court had something to say ?

He said "weeks away", and I asked him how many weeks : 52?
He also thought Raab was Prime Minister material 🙄. Material to make a table cloth, I reckon.
I can't but help laugh when I watch Raab speak in his hushed tones. You look at his expression and you just know he's clueless. But at least he doesn't appear as snake - like as some of the others.
But, I kinda miss old Jason. We get an insight into how dem Toryboys are thinking.
Hope he's doing OK.

I question leaving the EU full stop, Elgy
