Plenty of managers scoring goals, including John Delve and Noel Blake. Plus Big Sam, Brian's Nigel, etc.

Gillingham 10-0 winners over Chesterfield and 5 up at HT
Could you imagine Jeff Selling if that scoreline was coming through on Soccer Saturday now....

Decent City line-up ... playing for other clubs :)

Bond, Rutter, Viney, Forbes P-Masters, McNichol, Davey, Randell, Sims, Kellow - is that Bobby Hodge at Colchester? Others?

The board needs to give Brian Godfrey some cash, so he can sign this lad Rush from Chester.

Photo from Jimmy Giles testimonial game during 1984/85 or pre season 1985.
Jim McNichol with Referee Tony Ellis.
Tony was a FL linesman, referee & referee assessor in his time as well as looking after the match officials at SJP after he retired.
Jimmy Giles testimonial was played 4 years after he had left the club.Which seems quite a long time.
He had a ‘all star team’ with the likes of Charlie Nicholas & Paul Mariner in the side.
Has anyone got a programme & details from the game ?(Tim Long ?)

Crowds were really bad around then, Even Wolves only had 3,811 at their game, Was Wolves on the way down to Div 4 or on the way back up in 85?
