What's with all this Mackie manure ? People seem to have very short memories. Iirc, didn't he leave under a cloud ? Called in a sickie at the Cat n Fiddle, only to be found meeting up with the Slime manager in a hotel in Jannerland ? Forcing through a January window move whilst we were on a promotion push from the Conference. Not a proper chap !

Yes, he may have been a player who worked his socks off to improve himself, but that was years ago. Matt Taylor seems to be clearing out the injury prone dross from the squad, why on earth would we want to sign another ?
Injury prone? He has had a few problems in recent years, I grant you.

Dross? Most certainly not.

I'd have him back here in a heartbeat if we could guarantee 30+ games out of him.

Aparently applications for assistant are coming in thick and fast, sounds like it's Jamie Mackie then!

Matt Taylor is proving to be quite a tease, giving this series of clues.

Or is that an attempt to manipulate social media?

It will probably be somebody already involved like Craig Woodman or Ryan Harley as player coach

Harley as a coach? That would be interesting....lessons on how to pass sideways and more importantly, how to ensure the opposing team have the time to get everyone behind the ball before you look up.

I would hope that anyone getting the job already has the appropriate pro coaching qualifications.

Beat me to it. Am I right in thinking Oakley doesn't which is why he was called Assistant Manager not Coach? IIRC he once said he was going into analysis not coaching.

Also IMO it really needs to be someone with coaching experience elsewhere as well as here.
