Cole Skuse released by Ipswich. Originally from Bristol. Wrong side of 30 but if we can get a car load from Bristol, it will be like the old days....
Not going to happen went to school with Cole,s dad . Cole and his family are very happy in the Ipswich area.

in theory yes but Colchester may not want or be able to afford all three or may be looking at completely different types of players. Agents will want to test the water with a range of clubs to get the best deals for example Colc may only offer 1 year deals we may offer 2 at more money. Therefore, anything is possible depending on what offers are received

Wasn't Sears at Colchester before he went to Ipswich? It would be of no surprise if he went back to Colchester given his East London/Essex routes.

Use Google Greasy, it's very very simple.

Yeah. He had a hot spell in 14/15 for Colchester which got him the move to Ipswich where he continued the form for the rest of that season. Realistically looking at his career nothing much otherwise. If it wasn't for him scoring on his debut for West Ham as a kid, he would be a decent lower league player who had a really good season but not particularly a ""known" name.

Here and there
All the talk about location is interesting. It is perhaps ironic that we were relatively easily attracting players from all over from our inception up to the late 1930s, at a time when long distance travel was not as easy as it is today.

Having said that, it is a totally different world today and I do think the reasons why we sometimes struggle to tempt players to come here, already quoted by some posters, are valid.

All this surely is another reason why our academy is so important? Not just for the opportunity to develop talent and see them progress, sometimes earning us a tidy sum in the process, and sometimes staying (at least for a couple of years) and contributing to the team. It's a lot easier when the players have been born and raised in the south west.

Carlisle manager Chris Beech admitting he’s got “a fight on his hands” to hold on to some very good players.
