Bowman IMO has never been good enough and the sooner he leaves the better IMO. However, we have nobody else at the moment and so it's a difficult situation. Do we take some cash and cut him loose and jeopardise our play off chances? No way will we get automatic but play offs are a reasonable target. Or do we hang onto him, let him go on a free at the end of the season and hope he can find a goal rush in the final months of the season?

Unless there is someone coming in to replace him, then i'd say on balance he needs to stay and see the season out or we may as well write it off now.

He has scored 10 goals, which includes 2 hattricks.
Take them away he has scored 4 in 22..
Life dont work like that. Nobody ever said if you take out Kellow's penalties his strike rate was average did they? But Kells scored a good number of pens as well as hatricks. Christ on your basis Kellow's normal rate minus pens and hattricks would have been around 8 a season!!!

That's a meaningless argument. You could equally well argue that take away the games when he didn't score and he has 10 goals in 6 games.
Agreed. On a cricket scorecard you don't record the dot balls against the batsman, only the scoring balls, because at the end of the innings it's only the total that matters.

Also, if we sell him and don't bring anyone in then with Law going too, what sort of message does this send out to the rest of the players for the remainder of the season? That the club has written off the season already?

The two hat tricks don’t count then?

I don't think it is meaningless, there are too many games where he doesn't contribute goals.

At the start of the season he had 1 or 2 goals in about 13 games, he is now on a run of 1 goal in 8 games.

These regular barren spells are a big issue imho.

I heard Bowman tried to sign, but fluffed it and missed the box.

If he goes, he goes. As long as we replace him with a decent striker and add another 1/2 forwards I don’t mind.

Yet another set of minimal minutes for Seymour and Fisher shows the belief in those two.

Not it isn't, strike rate matters.

No point batting for 3 days and scoring 40 runs. The team you play for will get nowhere.

The national league and Conf South/North may well decide to curtail the season therefore that probably means there is little or no chance of Fisher leaving on a free and Seymour going out on loan. So if Bowman does leave will we score again this season :)
