The Friday of the County Show was a unofficial day off at my school.Though you needed a parental note.

By the time I got there, the school used to warn everyone over that Friday afternoon to attend class but always with an underlying resignation. The pupils opinion was more along the lines of "what are they going to do, suspend the whole school"
