Yeah, they might be. Or they might be rubbish. If there was a pool of guaranteed good managers, every club would have their rod in it wouldn't they
Exactly. Every appointment comes with potential disappointment. For every Rob Edwards or Kieran Mckenna you get a David Horseman (ex Saints academy highly thought of and now not so highly thought of at FGR)

Cameron Toshack. Did well as Swansea City's U23 manager, and brought the Cypriot club Pafos the highest wins ratio in their history. Until recently an assistant coach at Leeds. Would he move here to be a number one?

In light of today’s dismissal of Matt Taylor at Rotherham I now think it’s a straight choice for the board to make…Do they stick with Caldwell and risk the season completely imploding altogether and being cut a drift in the relegation zone by early in the New Year or reappoint Matt Taylor and bring some unity and hope back to the club…If the situation is already beyond repair Taylor would be much the better option for a rebuild in League Two next season.

Matt Taylor wont be coming back to Exeter City. Attractive proposition for the club and fans but a shredding of his reputation when we are in the position we are. He knows our position now is a whole heap worse than when he left. I will ask the question but what on earth is in it for Matt?

Do you know something the rest of the world doesn't? Nothing on the Rotherham website. Nothing on BBC or Sky. Who or what is your source?

It's a decent job, he knows the club and how to make it successful, he'll have a free swing at this season and if we were to go down would have a decent financial base to plot a return. What's not in it for him. Sacked by Rotherham... Were the kind of club in the kind of situation he's likely to end up at.
