A year ago now I finally managed to source one of those new HP Reverb VR Headsets and made the purchase from the "dreaded Amazon" (yes, I know , but at the time they apparently had the only availability in the UK at the time.)

I happily paid the advertised, delivered £Sterling price without too much complaint.

Imagine my surprise then to receive today, out of the blue, a notification that £92 was being automatically refunded directly to my bank account for "import duty" that shouldn't have been applied to the advertised price.

I would not have been aware of even the possibility of this having accepted the original quoted inclusive price.

I, like many, still harbour doubts about these multinational monoliths but, in this case, hats off to Amazon. At least they (or their algorithms) seem to be more honest in their dealings than some other traders.

I’m an infrequent poster on here these days but would just like to add that I was too pleasantly surprised with Amazon recently. As a regular subscriber to Amazon music I paid an extra sum ( can’t remember how much) for HD music. Out of the blue I had a refund into my account for £43. Apparently they give HD sound to all subscribers now.
