Crawley had apparently put in an offer (perm) for Bass last week - he spent the second half of last season on loan at Bradford; no idea if the Crawley bid is acceptable or wanted - but I get the sense that he doesn't fit the Cowley blueprint for a goalkeeper.

Bass spent the best part of six months as our first choice a couple of seasons ago and was very good during that spell. He's had tough couple of years, losing his spot at the very start of the 'covid season' and then suffering a couple of injuries that set him back. I think he's got a good chance of carving out a decent league career for himself; but needs to find a club that a) will play him and b) isn't entirely fixated on playing out from the back.

We've signed a first-choice (I assume) keeper on loan today from WBA (as per tweet); which should free Bass up to go somewhere whether permanently or on loan.
