Re the climate protest, I don't get why they do as much as possible to be disliked by the general public, it makes no sense at all. I've left my fridge door open all day and started eating meat at lunchtimes just to annoy them.
Don't forget that you've got a nice big bonfire to light in your back garden this afternoon...chuck on a few tyres for me if you like.

I'm burning the car so I can buy a diesel van. I'm also banning my children from walking to school so I can drive it. Takes a little longer to drive but...

Just ensure that the previous owner has removed the catalytic converter for you before you part with the cash.

Re the rest of your message, ever get the feeling you've been cheated?
Yes, I think so. In Dec 2019 I was relishing the prospect of Dominic Cummings tearing up the place.

Fast forward 20 months and we have Carrie making sure no one is mean to tree huggers.

Not what I voted for really. And then there was the crossing of the Rubicon with the tax hike.

I'm definitely now back in camp Farage (or Tice or Fox or whoever). Tories have shifted well and truly to the Left and I'm having none of it. And Labour/LDs offer absolutely zero opposition.

I wonder how much Carrie is the problem here ? Bunter clearly has to keep her onside. Previously very right wing "Big John" Bercow veered off to the left when he married socialist Sally.

Would a different Tory leader make any difference ? I rather doubt it.

In a similar vein, there's something else that really got the Jinx shackles up this week.

Little Jinx is doing entrance exams (11+) and this week it was the turn of QE Boys which is one of, if not the top state school in the country.

We turned up to be see about a thousand other parents with their kids at the gates. And that's fair enough. But we had been reading about it and now we were now seeing it first hand - the bussing of kids in from China.

Now this is a state school which, as far as I understand it, is funded by my taxes (council or otherwise). So why is it opening its doors to people thousands of miles away who will presumably be denying a place to others that live nearby? Because it can. That's why.

Angry isn't the word.

How do you know they were bussed in and weren't British Chinese?

Isn't it something like 70% of emissions are made by 100 companies anyway? Why don't they just sit down outside those companies?

You've answered your own question there. What you or I or the general public does is largely irrelevant, it's business and government that can make the difference. Therefore it doesn't matter how many people their mass disruptions upset, they feel they are the best way to force the issue with the groups that matter. Upsetting people is a bonus in some ways, as ordinary people are inevitably going to be annoyed with the way the government are handling it, as Mr Jinx has neatly demonstrated.

Yes, there are lies, but then there's broken key manifesto pledges.

I will never forgive Labour for reneging on their respecting the 2016 EU Ref result pledge (in 2017)

Likewise, I won't forgive the current Government for breaking their pledge on tax rises. However, they do have a year or two to backtrack on it to some degree (I think they might have to when they find themselves continually behind in the polls). So you never know.

So, I find myself, along with many others, politically homeless at this juncture.
