Not quite sure how that became a duplicate posting ?
Or how the original vanished ?

Nah. The Cheeseball does not seem to me to be a Lancashire hotpot, black pudding or butter pie sort of chap.
Au contraire Al, could suit Cheeseball mk 2 down to the ground. Sign a 2 year roller and get it paid up 3 months later, "money for old rope" ! :ROFLMAO:

Really bizarre. Even cut adrift in 20th in the Premier League they're arguably still performing above expectations, as most would have predicted them in the exact position they're currently now last season and they managed a top-10 finish.

There's been lots of conjecture over the past few weeks that things were going on behind the scenes, and that Wilder had fallen out with those in charge. It must have become particularly toxic for them to make the call now - given that they've got no chance of staying up this season, regardless of who they bring in. Considering he's got them two promotions in rececnt times, is both a supporter and a former player, and that the fans are largely still behind him by most accounts - I can't see who their owner thinks would be a better fit?

Additionally, he signed a new, long-term contract last January on what will have been significantly improved terms given his stock at the time. Some of the possible pay-off figures being quoted are eye-watering. At the very least you wonder why they didn't leave it till the end of the season at least?

They were never the same side after the first lockdown something seemed to happen to them then.

Lack of quality signings in January.

Injuries, particularly at the back, haven't helped them. Also, those PL teams who had played them once and come up against their slightly different style tend to work out how to deal with it second time around better than Championship and below. It's why you can often see a promoted side with a distinct style start well and drop away in the second half of the season.
