Local property developer David Clowes is to make a bid for Derby today after buying their Pride Park stadium.
Property developer - that's always a bit alarming. Be interesting to know whether he has any previous conncections with Mel Morris.

Ipswich Town have sold 16,000 Season Tickets. Ipswich is only marginally bigger population wise than Exeter. They have had a lot of history & success compared to most in L1 but it goes to show what clubs our size are up against in the division.

Probably stating the obvious, but I expect them to push on this season. They’ve strengthened well by all accounts and will probably live up to the hype this time out. Of the other bigger teams, Wednesday have picked up a couple of players who were decent at Rotherham last season, and Bolton have also recruited well thus far. Not sure about Pompey, maybe sign of the chimes can give us a run down?

Distances to travel in Lg 1

They have calculated on a one-way basis, but to reflect fans’ experiences the total will be doubled here with Plymouth fans travelling 11,144 miles.
That’s substantially more than League One new boys Exeter City who face 9,282 miles in total with Ipswich third (8,354 miles).
Morecambe come in fourth (8,154 miles) with Fleetwood sixth behind Pompey (8,040 miles).

It's true the population is marginally bigger than Exeter, however they draw their support from all over Suffolk, which has a population of 760,000. Very impressive numbers nevertheless and as you say reflects the history of the club.

Bought the Stadium for £22m off of former Chairman Mel Morris company..Who also wrote off £59m in loans via his company 😳
A mind boggling sum.

I wonder what the final bill will be after all the non football creditors(25%) & football creditors(100%) have been paid ? plus of course the multi million Administration Fee.

Having worked from time to time for many years in Suffolk I can definitely affirm that the Suffolkians are extremely parochial in their football - Norwich in particular but also the Essex clubs.
Not too dissimilar to Exeter rugby in that respect - "the only club in the village"

I note that Burnley have poached Michael Twine (who was so impressive in breaking Cornish hearts in that final game of last season) from The Franchise.

"Undisclosed fee" as so often...but i expect there were strings attached!

And one less quality opponent for us to worry about this season! (y)
