Irresistible, Sky Movies. Story of a Democrat Campaign Manager who works to get a local man voted in as mayor of a small town in the US, Its a satirical look at American Politics starring Steve Carell as the Campaign Manager and has to deal with the fact its a Republican town with a Republican mayor and a very sharp female Republican Campaign Manager, Some quite funny bits in it and twist to the story at the end, Very watchable 7/10.

The Dig.

A widow employees an excavator/archaeologist to come and dig up some mysterious burial mounds in her field to see what, if anything, lies beneath. I’ll leave it at that, spoilers and what have you, but will just say that they don't find aliens or anything like that.

Although it might not sound like the plot for a decent film, there’s more to it than a bloke in a field with a trowel and it’s actually pretty good 6.5/10.

Fascinating oscar-winning fly-on-the-wall documentary. An American filmmaking cyclist trying to replicate Lance Armstrong's drug test evasion leads to a meeting with the Russian head of anti-doping from the Sochi winter olympics. A strong friendship ensues and ends up with the anti-doper Doc becoming a whistle-blower exposing the Russian state doping scandal, Putin et al, and admits his own involvement. Now has witness protection in the US after Putin turns on him, and a colleague suffered a 'heart attack' at 52. A real good watch for any sports lover, as we all are..... 8/10.

Prisoners.

Hugh Jackman's daughter and her pal go missing. Jackman doesn't think the rozzers are doing a very good job of looking for them so takes matters into his own hands. The ending was quite annoying but it was a bearable watch and there's nothing else to do 4/10.

The 39 Steps (1935). With John Laurie and Peggy Adhcroft. A man in London tries to help a counter-espionage Agent. But when the Agent is killed, and the man stands accused, he must go on the run to save himself and stop a spy ring which is trying to steal top secret information. Has aged a bit! Still a good story, some lovely camera work. 6/10.
