I’m sure Matt/Rovers are ambitious and have a target of Championship football. Signing Kite and Hartridge wouldn’t appear compatible with that aim!Do you really think that Matt Taylor is the sort of manager who is "happy to be bumbling along in mid table" ? Quite clearly you were completely blind to his highly competitive nature as both a player and manager whilst with us !
I suppose you can only spend what you’re given.I’m sure Matt/Rovers are ambitious and have a target of Championship football. Signing Kite and Hartridge wouldn’t appear compatible with that aim!
Not sure how legit this is, but if it can be believed, I'm surprised how low MK dons are. Thought they spent a lot of money, badly, rather than being relatively financially limited.Bristol Rovers' accounts were not detailed enough for Kieran Maguire to include in the chart below, but this nevertheless provides an interesting insight to budgets at L1.

The guy that pulled this together, Kieran Maguire, is an academic specialising in football finances. The data comes from the published accounts of each club. I think the caveat is that the wages are not necessarily limited to players and may include commercial, grounds, ticketing etc.Not sure how legit this is, but if it can be believed, I'm surprised how low MK dons are. That is what I thought about Pompey this year, they made some real average looking signings from the outside in the summer. Clearly they haven't proven to be average. It's all about the squad as whole and you need solid pros like Hartridge and Kite in these squads, even if they aren't starting every game.I’m sure Matt/Rovers are ambitious and have a target of Championship football. This. The published figures must include coaching and non-footballing staff (our players wages bill cannot be anywhere near £5M, and our management costs are not high). The guy that pulled this together, Kieran Maguire, is an academic specialising in football finances.
