The reason I always fight against right wingers is that they are one step away from being Trump-types and Trump-types are one step away from being dictators / Nazis. History has shown us how quickly that transition can happen. Extreme left wingers can also have such tendencies. Liberal democracy with action against global warming is the way.

Are you being wilfully obtuse? You are talking about the Democrats and the KKK. George Wallace was a Democrat and governor of Alabama in the sixties - this is what I was referring to. And since you clearly haven't bothered to click on the link here's an extract from it:

The Nazi party weren't left wing. They may have used 'socialist' in their title but it wasn't an ideology they agreed with, it was a simple appropriation of the term for political capital.
As for American politics, they don't compare to ours. America doesn't really have a left wing as such. The Republicans are probably somewhat right of our Conservatives and the Democrats somewhat akin to middle of the road Conservatives. They'd have a complete fit if anything like Labour existed as a main political party.

Not only from the wealthy. The Nazis had a great scam going in the years before the war. They persuaded, through clever advertising, most of the workers to enter into a state savings scheme. The idea was that the hard working German was entitled to a holiday every year. It was something like a mark or two a month (I'm too lazy to find the details) and was subscribed to by the millions. They pulled the same stunt with the Volkswagon, every worker deserved a car etc etc. Naturally, all the funds went into military provision.
