Conundrum - Reid & McAlinden or Stockley & Jay

we need a squad; we need potent striking options on the bench; we need to be able to cope with three games a week (which will happen twice more this month). We need be able to cope with injuries when we can't sign anyone for four months.

so we've probably now got about the right number of quality striking options.

As I've said before, I quite like the idea of Reid and Stockley to go and bully oppositions back fours especially when in northern hell holes like Accrington, Morecambe or Chesterfield.

I would argue that if we continue with the early season tactics of playing Taylor, Tillson and James in midfield then McAlinden is the only striker whose role is essential, as he is able to quickly turn defence into attack which will be missing otherwise.
