Ben's current status at Villa neatly encapsulated today. He's one of the 33 players on tour in Australia. But not among the 21 who played some part in today's win over Leeds. He's now 4th choice left back after Digne,Augustinsson and Ashley Young, so desperately needs a loan.

(Anyone know of a lower league club now looking to boost its squad with loan players? Preferably one with a reputation for giving a chance to and developing youngsters)

I don't think so (though I know you may think differently!)

I'm still interested in a) how City academy products who are with higher level- especially Premier League - clubs get on and b) there is the ECFC financial interest - there are almost certainly add ons and probably also a sell on (though we don't have details)
