the problem with tisdale he is so arrogant and self obsessed he wouldnt care if he read this anyway!! love the way he scuttled off at the end of the game! just shows he cannot take criticism! hopefully people here will soon start to see that hes washed out of ideas now. but then the board havnt got a clue either. must be nice to know your going to get paid for 2 years despite how well the results go! only this could happen at "our football club"

In the last 52 years we have finished in the top half of whatever lge we have been in 21 times(that includes the 5 conference years).

We have appeared in lge 1 13(top half 4 times) times, lge 2 34(12 times top half) times and the conference 5 times(obviously every year top half but only 2 playoff appearances in those 5 years).

In Tisdales period at the club we have been top half 4 out of 6 years(5th and 4th in the conference with 2 Wembley appearances), 2nd in lge 2 and 8th in lge 1. We have been bottom half twice within lge 1(18th and 23rd i believe). This season we will be top half making Tisdales contribution 5 out of 7 in the top half. Whether you like Tisdale or not his record at this club compared to our previous history is actually very impressive. To further add 3 of our 4 top half lge 1 finishes came back to back in the late seventies and eighties when we finished 9th in 78/79, 8th in 79/80 and then 11th in 80/81.

Our history is very much apart of how we can build our future and the expectations we can expect to have without significant investment(Like Wigan or Reading as 2 examples). Overall people need to be realistic about what to expect. This season if we make the Playoffs then we have had a good season.

Nice incisive analysis there Liam - still I guess it's better than hurling abuse as a means of motivating the players:$

so instead we clap a **** performance and pat the manager on the back for allowing a team to play long ball to a migit up front!

footballs a mans game, if they arnt stepping up to the game give them a kick up the ass!!!

so are tisdales comments right? every sunday we read in the western morning news comments from someone whos clearly seeing different things that any one else see.

im not saying he hasnt been the best manager we have had, because his record tells you that. im saying his tactics are ****e! hes got the motivational skills or a cold turd and ive seen more passion from the stones on my patio than comes from him!!

you just watch him today. hands in pockets. we go a goal down and he will start leaning up against the dugout no doubt.

Tisdale has his style the players know it, he is a considered manager who plans each game, briefs his players then let's them play.
How does standing on the touch line effing & blinding motivate? Simple answer is it doesn't, not in situations where decision making is involved. It purely promotes reaction not necessarily the correct one, it reduces confidence & decision making ability therefore reducing the effectiveness of a unit. Look at SAF his anger is always directed at either the officials or opposition, when talking to his players he is calm & controlled.
People say he shows no passion but we all show passion in different ways.
He was probably as disappointed as the rest of us on Saturday & having listened to some of the abuse thrown at our players both during & after the match he was probably better off going straight down the tunnel. Otherwise some of those football experts might of got an earful. Then what would people be posting on here?

Didn't we beat them in the Devon Bowl, too?

^o)

League and FA Cup are what matters, although the 2-1 at theirs was an awesome night.
