Tenko on BBC1. The first series. A drama about a interment camp for women after the Japanese invasion of Malaya, Singapore & the Dutch East Indies. Covering 1941-45. A time pretty much forgotten about except for the people involved.

3 series(3 x 10 episodes) plus a feature length episode at the end of the run.
There had been many films & dramas about POW camps but this was the first about a interment camp featuring primarily women. The film Empire of the Sun(1987) loosely followed the idea.
