5th May 1976.

The European Cup Winners Cup is Live on BBC1, a good one it was too. Two sides who played attractive football. West Ham’s team had 11 English players in the line up, Anderlecht had 7 Belgians & 4 Dutch players in their 11 inc Arie Hann & Rob Rensenbrink who were part of that wonderful Holland team of the 1970s.
The viewers had a treat as expected, Anderlecht winning 4-2, scoring twice in the last 15 mins.
Just one of many great European Finals in the 1970s.

David Coleman(1926-2013) Who else ? commentating, though I think he was coming to the end of his time doing the major games with the BBC.

One, Nil was his signature,
I was watching the Jim Montgomery double save in the 1973 Cup Final earlier. Trevor Cherry(diving header) then Peter Lorimer hammering the rebound from 8 yards goal wards, Coleman like everyone else was expecting the net to bulge, saying One, One, as Montgomery got a hand to the ball & deflected it onto the underside of the bar & away...He corrected by immediately saying, No.

One of my favourites from that era..David Neilson(Roy Cropper from ‘The Street’ ) was in a episode in series 2 playing a cult leader iirc.

Started to watch the first season of Jack Ryan(Amazon Prime) A couple of episodes in, it looks good.
Jack Ryan(John Krasinski) is a former US Marine who was injured in a combat helicopter crash & is now a CIA analyst.
Reminded me a little of the excellent Homeland, if it’s half as good as that it will be a good series.

I thought the last series was brilliant Olds, I binged the last seven over the bank holiday weekend. Even the last 10 minutes was gripping - the scene with Navarro’s sister, Claire and the Byrds at the casino event was stressful!
Have you started watching the new season of Better Call Saul yet Fred ?

I was torn between waiting for the whole lot to be available on download & then binge or watching weekly..I could not wait, so chose the latter..

Yes but only the first couple so far. It’s been a bit stop-start for me though (Ozark got in the way!) so I’m not fully into it yet.

Just finished series 2 of Picard on Amazon Prime. Really a brilliant series, The way characters from past Star Trek shows are incorporated into this one is really good and believable, If you're a ST fan you really should look this one up.
