22nd October 1977..The first time the Grecians had played Preston NE in a FL fixture.
Memorable for the generous cheering & applause for Preston Manager Nobby Stiles when he walked along the touch line to the dugout.
Nicky Jennings scored one, can’t remember who got the other goal(not got my Rothmans at hand)0A97D9C4-2521-478D-9BE5-08CF1E556F51.jpeg

Enjoyed that game very much! We were going well at that point, and Dick Plumb was in good scoring form.

Good to know our people did that. You can always rely on City fans to show their class! (y)

Yes,I recall it too. That was the 1st season I had a Juvenile season ticket.

I would get on the 186 bus from Exminster at 1.50pm with a couple of friends,we would get to the ground at about 2.30 then straight to our usual spot on the fence at the SJ rd end,to the right of the goal.

Yes a game that sticks in my mind. I have half an idea that I saw the goals on television as well. I seem to remember a long ball into the box headed in by Plumb. After years as also rans, this is the game after which I started to believe, sadly to be disappointed.
