I learnt from an annoying radio ad that what i thought was pronounced peck-or-rama is actually peek-or-rama. You live and learn.

Guess you are referring to "Pecorama" perched high on the cliff above that delightful village of Beer. Now that's one place name that any respecting Brit should have no difficulty in pronouncing, or spelling !

Dimpsy is actually dialect and most people don't understand it.

"Where you to?" is also not correct English and can confuse people.

I got into trouble with that one after moving to Swindon. I asked, quite reasonably in my view, "Where's it to'? ...blank faces all around. I thought it was correct putting "to" on the end of the sentence like that.

A few years ago my great-niece, then a toddler on a visit from the Midlands , was wandering around our house. I said "Where are you going to ?" and she turned to me and said "I'm nearly three".
