Is this really the best way to show our support for the military, by offering them a place in the away end? Cant see why anyone locally would want to be in with the away supporters and surely theres enough spare seats in the Flybe or the Stagecoach to accommodate them! May even encourage a bit more vocal support. 'Siege Army' literally.

Yeah, big shame I think. I guess it's because Carlisle won't bring many, and the beancounters have thought they could get a few more in that space at a bargain price.

£5 is indeed a great deal, but we're not exactly going to be short of space elsewhere - so seems a bit tight to me!

The away fans are all being housed in the Old Grandstand so there is an opportunity for those in the military to fill the away end

As a businessman, I do get the rationale there... and that would be great if there wasn't the room elsewhere. But for the same amount of money made, the club could easily accommodate them elsewhere - where it may add to the atmosphere or be more comfortable for the personnel (especially if it rains!). Unless of course we're expecting 1000+ military to turn up?

isn't it more about getting support for the lads along four sides of the ground?

surely away fans in away end, military in the away section of OG would have been better? or an end section of the doble?

You're applying common sense, and this is your downfall.

Firstly serving members of the forces should get in for free but FFS let them go somewhere where they could get a beer, imagine how parched they must be after a tour in Iraq/Afghan.
