Awaiting the rise of the academy boys.
The issue is not the players, but the poor tactics, and poor team selection....
Alex N wins player of the month, only to be dropped?
No pace on the break, but Wheeler's sat on the bench?
Eight defenders camped on the edge of our box, but Bobby Reid finds time and space in the hole?
Oakley's lack of pace:- time to retire.
Harley picked the ball up plenty in midfield, but there were never any options: only able to pass sideways at best?
Morrison held the ball up well, but who was busting a gut to get near him?
Far too defensive, and too many old timers.
Taxi for Tisdale!!

Thought Pym had a good game. Sercs and Ribeiro at least showed some energy and drive. Bennett was okay.

The rest? Not 'very good'

I thought he was a bit suspect with the one on one for Argyle's first; He was off his line well to try and close the forward down, but instead of throwing the length of his body across the path of an inevitable shot, he chose to try and make whatever save he could from a standing position with his feet! No chance with the second, and f*** knows what happened for the third. That was never a penalty either; Their player ran right across the front of our defender who couldnt help but trip him up.
Can't agree with you about the first. Yes it was clearly a penalty, the attacker got in front of Oakley and he made a desperate attempt to correct his mistake and brought the player down.

Very good summary but Tisdale would call that a good performance.

Sercs often seems to 'run in to nowhere' but the question is why? The answer is he gets 2 or 3 defenders descending on him and there's usually no-one around to back him up, bit like Tom Nichols yesterday. Morrison also had the same problem, he wins the ball, holds it up well but where's the backup?

Not difficult to work out. So many of our players can pass the ball but have no pace and little energy to break with speed. Sercs is a strong runner, wheeler and Ribeiro have pace also. One is on the bench the other held back in the back three. All the rest are happier moving ball slowly to each other. Looks ok at times but doesn't trouble too many teams .Team has lacked mobility for much of the season. Remember we still have Noble & Butts to come back in. Just more of the same really. Squad is unbalanced too many older players, some young quick legs would really help.

Don't know what the hell Ribs was at with their first though him and Davies either asleep or admiring each others hair while Reid nipped in between them. one of them should have been on him like a limpet. Someone needs to take charge at the back and start barking out orders...its not rocket science.

We need to start winning the battles man to man all over the field and at the moment (and for the last 6 or 7 games ) no one is.

It was almost as if we were scared to tackle Plymouth in case we hurt them....just too bloody nice and they all need to man up big time...bunch of jesses!
