his current (Championship) wages I’d imagine.
Championship kid wages are probably similar to our senior wages

According to Transfermarkt his contract at Huddersfield runs until 2025.
So if that’s correct and it’s a permanent deal, it’d no doubt need to involve in decent fee unless they’re keen for him to leave.
If it’s the latter he’d want to match his current (Championship) wages I’d imagine.
If we've paid a fee for him, hopefully it's not very much.

Phillips would be an interesting signing. For those who could be bothered to do more than just write him off from last time would have seen little bits and pieces in him but he was far from the finished article. He had a good start to the season with Morticia (Adams) at Morecambe last season so he would come to us twelve months wiser and, probably more importantly, twelve months physically developed which will help him along no end.

I doubt he's developed much physically when he's been sat on his arse injured for 6 months

Is Phillips a loan though as it's not clear from that wording?
I was thinking the same definitely not clear.

In reality though are squad players supposed to fill you with excitement? Da Costa (or a n other) wouldn't be a starter but would be filling in as and when necessary. Top Bucks top excitement players are reserved for 1st team starters surely? Regards Phillips it would be a punt which I'm comfortable with. We need more forwards we are very aware of that. He would be a back up on the bench largely and at 23 could develop further
Agree completely Saint always thought there was a player there when he was with us on loan could be a good signing now and for the future.

If we add Phillips, Dacosta and Harris I make that job done. Squad of 23 (I’m only including Cox and Borges from the youth) - cover for all positions. Loads of options and plenty to be excited/hopeful about.

Can’t wait for Saturday: I hate Wycombe.

Agree with you to a point and think it would certainly be an exciting young squad.
I do still fear that we are lacking real experience in the squad though.

Still hoping GC has a surprise up his sleeve as he even acknowledged at the recent fans forum that he wanted more experience in the squad.

Be an interesting few weeks.

Just having a muse over the Exeter B team and saw that Burton have only 19 players signed on (no yoof to fill in as far as i'm aware) and just lost to Scunthorpe (yes really) as their season warmer last Saturday. Maybe things aren't as bad as we think ..................
