And so Jezza joins the MP exodus at the next election. Not through his own volition mind, and that's ruffled a few Guardianistas' feathers today.

Not this particular one - My plumage is totally unfluttered! :p

The INDEPENDENT member for Islington North JC broke party rules and broke party ranks and quite correctly had the whip removed.

Agree with G2K, I doubt it has ruffled many Guardian readers' feathers - probably more 'Socialist Worker' readers....

But the Blue Tops will almost certainly pounce on it like the elixir of Tory life. That (and closet racism) is about all they have left in the locker after all.

On first glance disappointed with Labour’s ‘New Britain’ proposals via Gordon Brown. Looks like the already devolved nations get further recognition of their identities and democracy yet for poor old England it’s merely more balkanisation from a political class seemingly afraid to treat England as a distinct nation and one of the “awesome foursome” as somebody famously coined the UK.

Not quite right, Starmer says he doesn't think Corbyn can stand as a Labour candidate. He could though stand as an Independent one and with a 26k majority he could very well be re-elected as an Ind MP.

Poor old Lady Moan really being dumped on by Celebrity Hand-****...and on the front page of today's Daily Heil of all places!

Poor ickle Michelle - still she can scuttle back to one of her and Mr Barrowboy's tax havens with their I'll be-gotten millions. That's unless of course, her party make use of that new job description coined by Gordon Brown today - Minister For Corruption, Cronyism and Contracts For Friends.

Agree. I could see Magic Grandpa winning his seat standing as an independent.

As much as I'd love to see that happening, I can't see that it will.
