What’s with all this “legend” business Spanks, were you a legend when you arbitrarily threw me off this site a while back?
Upping the PA means more people will pay no personal tax. It’s not rocket surgery. With pay rates increasing, upping the UC will not be the ‘incentive to slack’ that the right always think it will be.Considering the bottom 40% of earners pay no personal tax anyway, how does increasing the PA help?
Permanently upping UC just encourages people to remain on in-work benefits and with 1.2 million vacancies we need people leaving the UC sphere not staying in it.
Do you ever bore yourself G2K, you certainly do me.Poor old Tavares.
Always the "victim" and never the "cause".
Straight out of the Trumpian Right Wing playbook as usual.
There is now the incentive, and the govt and businesses aren't doing their bit.The was no incentive to provide worthwhile wages, just employ people on the cheap part time and let the state top up their wages so they can live on it.
Really? Why do I need to bore myself when I've got you to do the job for me?
I don’t, Al. I do know certain people vote for a party/PM candidate pledging tax cuts while public services are on their knees. How do you know that they pay reluctantly ?
And vice versa I'd say!!!Really?
I can hardly post without you referencing me or responding to my every word.
Funny way to show your weariness with me.
It’s being negated by high inflation but from memory wages are increasing quite nicely. There is now the incentive, and the govt and businesses aren't doing their bit.
In fact, I reckon, the govt will rip apart rights for workers which will hurt those at the bottom most over the next few years and disincentive the low paid even further.
I agree with you that the state shouldn't be paying employees money that employers aren't.
