Rumours of Lady Nugee as shadow Home Secretary?
Surely not.
Please let it be so.

In a spurious claim to fame, there's a chance my son will be attending the same school as her daughter next Sept. One of many Labour MP child schooling decisions to cause a bit of a kerfuffle. (actually, it wouldn't be at the same time - got my decades wrong).

In the latest utterance from a French Minister, he accuses the U.K. of running a labour market akin to modern slavery which acts as a lure to economic migrants crossing the channel. The ability to work without an ID card being a particular problem he says.
I think he’s spot on.

When the Sun's political commentator says the Labour reshuffle is a good one then it can't be that bad like some on here said.

Is David Lammy replacing Lisa Nandy as shadow Foreign Secretary a demotion for Ms Nandy ?

Lady Nugee, with a truncated career as a not very good barrister now shadow AG. Very lightweight legal background for that appointment. Not impressed by that one Sir Keith. (n)

Arch plotter Remainer Mrs Balls to shadow Home Secretary replacing some non entity hardly anyone has heard of. At least she seems reasonably competent.

Comments and detailed analysis please from those well versed in Labour Party matters.

It seems a like a demotion for Nandy but as she is shadowing Gove for effectively "Northern" minister then maybe a bit of a vote of confidence for going against a "big beast" in the Tories centre piece policy. Happy with Cooper as shadow home secretary. She has generally been feisty as chair of the home affairs select committee and as you say seems one of the few competent figures in parliament. The AG face off between Braverman and Thornberry will be very low quality. Happy to see Wes Streeting getting a job as shadow health secretary.

Of course the main fall out of this will be the tensions between Leader and Deputy in what is another move towards the centre away from the left. John McDonnell already frothing suggests a good move.

On paper, it's a complete dogs dinner.

Promotions for Lammy & Thornberry. Both London MPs. Both toxic. What is he thinking?

Promoting Cooper you can understand on some levels, but bringing back Remainer in chief back to the fore so soon? Not a good move either.

I don't think this Kier bloke wants to win really, do you? Glad he's peed off rentagob even further though.
