This season there have been numerous occasions where players have quoted the team spirit in the club the latest being Josh Key in his pre Bradford interview Yet as soon as a player is dropped or as in George Ray's case loaned out there are people who immediately say that they have fallen out with Matty T. but are unable to produce any evidence to support, other than Matt is a plain and open talker and perhaps sometimes too open.

Likewise there are those that state we don't want promotion, that we want to stay in League two forever, because we have no ambition but we can't break the bank to make big signings in the windows. You hear from the players that this is not the case they want promotion as much as the fans and listening to Chieck in his interview this is drilled into the players at all levels and most opportunities.

Again in the summer when we were looking for our 'marquee' signings, several people were questioning the signings at the time. BY the start of the season we had those predicting a year of mediocrity finishing mid table at best. Yet we are now in February and people are raving about the likes of Tim Dieng & Jevani Brown (two players signed from lower table clubs) who at the time were meh signings to some, and we are currently 6th in the table eight points off second with two games in hand having had our best unbeaten run on record, knocked out of the F A Cup by a dodgy referee decision against higher league opposition

Matt Taylor has stated that he is ambitious and wants' to manage at a higher level, he has also stated that he is fully aware of the confines of managing Exeter City, as well as the benefits, so when you read these doomsayers (like when we went one down against Swindon) it makes you wonder whether they appreciate all that makes Exeter City - The people (players and staff), their capabilities, the ground, the facilities, the Media team and the fans, not one of them wants Exeter City to Fail, but as is often said We are Exeter City and it is never easy

So I hope tomorrow that should we go a goal down let's not start the Matt Taylor Out rant as happened on the Swindon thread, throw the negativity out the window and let's just get behind the team and see where this trip will take us.

Maybe. Or maybe we've renamed SJP 'The Carpetright SJP'...

There are a few younger players who could be out of contract but while it would be good to know whether the likes of Dodd, Veale, Arthur, Iseguan and Johnson are being retained I'm not sure that would justify the big reveal on twitter.

Wondering if I'm on a different planet

Wasn't aware that Carpetright had naming rights to SJP. Thought they were only (main) shirt sponsors
