where have you heard the rumours? Is it word of mouth and if so are the sauces well connected /reliable? Or is there also something on twitter/other social media?

When I look at ifollow 'extended highlights' quite often the majority of our best attacks stem from Josh's involvement - that stuff would get clubs excited.

However, I personally doubt whether clubs will be looking to sign wing backs in January - and also the risk of Covid now hitting clubs income may make then cautious about splashing the sort of cash necessary to sign Josh
Word of mouth from reliable sources regarding his exit, exact location obviously harder to pin down.

We all know Sunderland came in for him in the summer and I know that they've been playing with no specialist full backs/wing backs this season and the two they have on the books have long term injuries.

Key is definitely one of our better players and will no doubt move on to bigger and better things. His game will improve working with better coaches and players. Hopefully a big fee and some upfront money then available for some new recruits to tide us over till the next young player is moved on and the cycle starts again. A decent left back and a striker who has the legs to play 90 minutes at least once a week would be nice…..

So its January transfer window...and MT's comments last night after the FGR game were fascinating. He had lots of calls/messages asking whether Josh Key was playing.... And lots of scouts watching not just Josh but also Kane Wilson and Nicky Cadden. I was kinda hoping the scouts wouldn't be there because Josh outplayed both the highly talented and sought-after pair of Cadden (Key's direct opponent) and Wilson (playing in same position as Josh, but kept quiet by Jake Caprice)

I still don't see January as a window when clubs will splash out on promising but unproven wing backs - much better to do so in the summer and integrate into a club and playing style.

Also noticeable that MT implied there had been no bids this window so far- contrast deals such as Grimes and Stockley (and Bowman!) where everything is lined up in advance and just announced as soon as the window opens.

Sunderland's interest may well now have ended as they have spent 200k on another right back. Purely supposition on my part but because we no longer sell our asset's on the cheap I wonder if our valuation ended their interest? Having said that I would rather keep him than sell him for less than his worth. He's better than League One anyways :)

Good benchmark in terms of the possible valuation of our Josh with the Bournmouth signing of James Hill from Fleetwood reported to be £1.6M. On that basis given he was in the England set up and playing a league higher perhaps sets our ceiling around the £850k to £1M mark?

Great to learn that Josh feels:-

“My heart is that I am a Devonshire lad and I want to help Exeter get promoted. For me to say I wouldn’t want to push my career on, that would be a lie, but I want the best for Exeter, and the best for me, is getting Exeter promoted." https://www.devonlive.com/sport/football/football-news/josh-key-transfer-speculation-love-6641501

If all our X academy players demonstrate this feeling in the run in we have more than a chance.

Interested what people think of his start to league one life. Not seen much about him on the matchday threads this season especially in comparison to Jack Sparkes.

Personally, I think he's doing well. Josh is one of those players who just came into the team, always looked comfortable, never puts in a performance less than 6/10 and often betters it.

The difference between him and Sparkes this season is that Sparkes is surprising people that he can perform at this level. If Sparkes hadn't had injuries along the way I don't think it would surprise anyone.

I think he's having to do a bit more cautious in his attacking this year. His defending continues to improve. He could improve his crossing which would make him less predictable than always trying to take on the defender.
