.
There is a lesson to be learnt for the Premier League and English football here. They created an "Elite" system bordering on a franchise model with Clubs like Wasps, London Irish and London Welsh allowed to become nomads. They were trying hard to avoid promotion and relegation. When the crisis came and Clubs went to the wall, they dithered and prevaricated over providing the support to the league below, who let's face it are the source of Clubs that can step up and fill the void created.

It is to me, I would have thought of all places there are plenty of 'investors' in Jersey willing to back a team.

Should I merge and move this thread to this one?

And now Cornish Pirates have announced that they could be forced to go part time in 2024, unless additional funding has been secured.

Cornish Pirates were due to host Jersey Reds in a cup-tie this Friday.

£25,000 pa average pay for players is peanuts , especially given the risks involved.
