If there were any available, surely someone would have already signed them. But who would you drop to make way for said player? It just shows how badly those youngsters want it. We’re going to really coin it with them in the not too distant future. Interesting to see if we go for a proven goalscorer though in the coming transfer window.
Course it was. Bring Clinton Morrison in. Sorted.Remember when we had problems scoring under Tis and he stated that it was a problem that was easy to solve?
You rightly start by mentioning Randell Williams. He has become a very frustrating player to watch as a spectator because we (well, certainly I) can see the many attributes he has but, as you point out, this season so far, he seems to have lost some of his promise. My own take on it, for what it's worth, is that he tries too hard. He has an enviable ability to take players on and to dance around them but, to my mind, most of the time, he doesn't know when to stop dancing and pass the ball, inevitably ending up losing it. If only he can learn to do so and to hone his shooting skills when in on goal he will become one hell of a player. He needs, perhaps, to study Josh Key in action! If there were any available, surely someone would have already signed them. But who would you drop to make way for said player?
You'd have to say objectively that what we most need is not another goalscorer, but for Randell Williams to rediscover his form from last year and to avoid long term injuries. Then we would be genuine promotion candidates. IMO if we can continue to play like last night a squad of Ward or Maxted, Key or Caprice, Sweeney or McArdle, Parkes or Hartridge, Page or Sparkes, two from Taylor, Atangana and Collins; Law or Jay; Williams or Key; Bowman or Ajose; Randall or Sparkes, with several other good youngsters coming through, is probably as good as any in L2.
I appreciate your point here, but he and Josh are very different player. Josh is about pace and power whereas Williams is more about trickery and movement. Off the ball, Williams is very good. Perhaps they could learn from each otherHe needs, perhaps, to study Josh Key in action!
