What’s the atmosphere like in the ground?

Wycombe are ***** and so are we. Short corners when we can't score for love nor money. Build up is so slow and we can't keep the ball long enough.

Dull

What's the point in doing long corners when we're not going to score from those either?

🤷‍♂️

Sad to hear we're persisting with short corners, surely a team that can't score needs to get the ball in the box as much as possible

How are we looking? Can't watch the match so relying on the world class pundits here on exeweb
Pretty much as you'd expect. A lot of scrappy football enlivened by occasional flashes of half-decent football. We've got the ball into dangerous areas of the pitch more often than Wycombe but neither keeper has been tested. Cox has done really well holding the ball up and drawing fouls but needs more support around him. At the other end Cheick has looked really solid apart from one moment when he came absolutely flying into a tackle; he got a yellow but if he hadn't got the ball it could easily have been a red.

Two very poor teams. No quality, no cohesion. Crap passing

Sonny Cox not getting any change out of the high balls that the two big ugly feckers at the back are dealing with. Need to keep the ball on the ground to give him a chance.

Tom Carroll having another mare

I’m so sick of Caldwell’s tactics. Jules the Left Back just running off up the pitch into attacking midfield whenever we have the ball. The midfielders dropping deep and wide. Trying to work it down the wings. There’s no pace to it, no urgency, and it’s so so so predictable.
Not to mention it’s incredibly boring. Taylor didn’t always play the best football but it tended to be pretty entertaining.
This boring football was passable when we were getting results from it, but it’s just not happening now and needs to be changed. If Caldwell refuses to do that (it’s obviously how he thinks we’re better off playing) then he should leave. No matter what players we bring in in January, this play style isn’t going to get results. These are good players (on the whole), they proved that at the start of the season. It’s the style of play that just cannot get results.

Thanks a lot for the detailed rundown, much appreciated! 👍
