It should be a good move for him notwithstanding what happened with Matt Grimes previously although MG hasn’t looked back after returning to Swansea but can’t see Leeds paying more than £8M to £10M unless other bids come in.
There was an interesting bit about Chelsea's transfer strategy - or, more to the point, apparent lack off – in Saturday's Times. Can't remember who it was by but he was clearly well acquainted with the Chelsea squad and made a reasonably compelling case that the 'fire sale' which is taking place ATM had, for the time being at least, left them exposed in central midfield. Mindful that Ampadu can play in CM, and he's in line to go on Chelseas' tour of the USA, I'm not convinced Chelsea would be in a rush to sell him for significantly less than he's worth.

Can't really see him wanting to drop to the Championship out of choice, but if he does sign I hope that he makes sure that his mum keeps quiet on Facebook !

If true I’d be disappointed with £7m fee.

Still leaves us with £1.4m but had hopped for a £500k-£1m more.

Yes every million is important to City with no sugar daddy to rely on. Assuming we only get 1.4 m though ( very disappointing) , wonder how we’d allocate it?

Seems to be over the line at £7M plus add-ons, not bad for a lad that has earnt up £1.25M upfront and also 20% of at least one loan fee at 1.5m Euros. Go well Ethan! £1.4m = £462,000 in to the transfer kitty. Time maybe for a vote to change the business model from a 3-way split even. Maybe 40/40/20 maybe more prudent now. That would be £560k to be punted on some players and contracts.

We still have the loan fee from last year.

and there are add ons!

Are we still applying that 3 way split, if so will this and the other transfer action mean that the next phase of the training ground gets under way?

Presumably the add-ons must go up beyond 10m based on various things, probably including a promotion clause

Just happy to finally seeing some real cash flow from Amps never mind if not quite as much as we hoped for.

If Chelsea also have a sell on and receive future money for Ethan do we have a claim to that too?
