Well played England : once again the middle to.lower end got us out of a jam.
Exciting finish : shame no spectators.
Have to stick with Broad, Archer, Woakes and Bess. Please retire, Jimmy.
Hard for the tourists holed up in a hotel for weeks on end : thanks to the Windies and Pakistan for coming over and giving us some good cricket to entertainment us

Stokes out of the remaining two tests due to family reasons. Probably a reprieve for one of the bowlers with Crawley coming back in and Root reverting back to his favoured No 4 spot.

That is such a shame, and best wishes to Mr S whatever the reasons for his enforced absence.
But possibly a blessing in disguise for the commentators.
Woakes, Foakes AND Stokes might have been a rhyme too far!

Think I recall reading that his father has been unwell, but I could be wrong.

Northants 153 for 8, losing wickets quickly.

Woeful Northamptonshire slide to a heavy defeat as Cidermen’s strong bowling unit propels them to a second win. Lower order got the runs too. (y)

All over and another win for Somerset. Northants lost their last six wickets for six runs. When you add that to losing their last five wickets for two runs in the first innings, their tail certainly remained unwagging. Contrasting with Somerset's recovery from 55-6 to 222 in the second innings thanks to some good biffing by the Overton boys and 52 put on for last wicket in the first innings by vd Merwe and Brooks and you have the game.

The wretched Northants lost their last 9 wickets for 21 first knock so 15 wickets scored 27 runs.

Feckin’ dire.

Jamie Overton's ability to hit a quick 50 down the order is going to be missed.
