I'm not sure how i didn't notice this thread before. I think Poult got it right last year when he writes about language always changing and developing. There is no doubt that text speak will have a long term effect on the English language, just like the internet is changing the way we communicate in general, no matter how shallow we may find it or how lacking in expression it may be.
