Was really important to get ahead against a team low on confidence and we did that. Some very positive stuff, especially from Jay and Randall, and we have looked pretty sound defensively although Key looks a bit weak defensively as he often does despite being great going forward, a real threat, love him. Sweeney looks better every game at centre back and Taylor won a lot of loose stuff as he always does. Archie off it a bit, but second half we need to keep the pressure on them and not let them settle.

Andressons kicking really is terrible tonight, even with his good foot!

Always happy to be leading at half time. Seymour has done well with what service has been given. Far too many straight looping balls into him though. Doesn't stand a chance. All a bit scrappy really but we;ve been the better team. Great team goal.

Why does Jokull take all our free kicks, even when their virtually by the half way line if his kicking is literally the poorest in the squad. Won't hear the rubbish about pushing the line up, because they are virtually next to him when he takes it.

People will say 'keep it on the floor' and we are obviously better when we do. But the time on the ball is actually nil. Once we work the space, or a second ball drops to us, we can play well. But for christ sake, you can't just 'play it on the floor'. If we could, we would. Only certain phases of play allow you to.

our play has been scrappy at times, but feel they are there for the taking. We could be two or three ahead, and if we can get it down more in their half I feel we can hurt them. When we do we have looked dangerous on the flanks with some good movement.

Couldnt see anything wrong with the Jay header, and Seymour has been bright and was unlucky with his chance. We just need to concentrate and avoid giving away anything soft. I haven’t been impressed with the ref, he was quick to book Parkes but didn’t seem bothered by a few challenges from them.

Good half on a tricky surface. We have had control and only that scare at the end of the half from a corner to be worried about. Very well worked goal to go with a disallowed goal and hitting the crossbar. The joy to be had is behind their full backs for either Willmott and Randall or Key and Page getting forward. Joel looks a bit rusty but has got more into the game as it's gone on. Seymour had done well when the ball has been fed into the channels or dropped in short for him to hold up and had a couple of decent attempts.

Colchester look really low in confidence and the key will be not to give them any encouragement in the second half. A second goal will kill them off.
