Unfortunately, there's a lot of difference between Bolton and Exeter. With their goal-scoring record, you expect 'dominance and control' to lead to goal-scoring opportunities. With Exeter's (lack of) goal-scoring record, you expect 'dominance and control' to lead to the ball being passed around...

I wasn't thinking so much about actual 'chances', more about 'dominance' and 'feel'. I suspect that their management team will be furious that they didn't create more real chances in the first half. When they scored, they'd been so dominant that I really feared that the flood-gates might open...

Sorry, haven't followed the thread so I could be repeating what others have said. We failed to win simply because we failed to take advantage when we're were so on top. In the first half, when we had nearly 70% possession, we managed just three attempts on goal. THREE! You win football matches...

Have to say, that was dire. We lost to a really poor side. Why? We were worse!

Give a team with that quality a two goal start and it's always going to be difficult to come away with anything.

Really got to be happy with that! As well as playing so much better, the football gods seem to be looking kindly on us recently. A softish sending-off on Tuesday, plus an own goal, and two deflected goals today. Can I order up a dodgy penalty to us for Tuesday, please?

Hopefully, a team like Peterborough will come to actually play football, rather than just to frustrate. I always feel we have a better chance when given the opportunity to play ourselves.

Because it's quite easy to look back at a player - who now appears to be good enough - and say that we should have etc. But in order to get one NOW who will be good enough in four, three or even two years time, we would probably have to bring in five to ensure that one would make it. That's why...

All that is true. However, it's the kind of risk ECFC have to be prepared to take - after full medical advice, of course - if we want class players at the club. We can't just afford to buy-in 'sure things'.

For me, there's not enough bite in the midfield to 'Park the Bus' and not enough muscle upfront to keep the ball from coming straight back. Nothing against Cox, but I don't think he's developed enough for that. Unless Barnsley have a reall off-day, I can't see us coming back with anything...
