Thanks Froggy...........yes our lunatic fringe turned out for lge game and had a right battle before game---all the idiots who have banning orders who will no doubt be out and about Sat too----making it all the worse for the proper Town lads (99%) like me who will be in Bermondsey Tues...
You could feel the tension around home areas but your boys made a lot of racket-----Big Bank looked good and stand where players came out made a lot of noise too.
We finished up drinking in club bar before game and had some good banter too.
The away end (with respect) is crap though and stewards...
Well done Exeter on staying up.................couldnt happen to a nicer set of fans.I posted on here last week and got some advice on travel/pubs etc .
We were in a strange position when other scores made us realise our slimmer than slim chances of automatics had gone so were rather more...
Only sides who have stifled Town this season have been the ones who have flooded the midfield 4-5-1---eg Bristol Rov/Brentford and a few more.Think its a dangerous tactic myself as you have to win---as others have said a steady stifling start may do the trick for you if other scores start...
Wouldnt bank on Stockport beating a blind xI at the moment----we did em 6-0 at their place week before last and they just caved in after 2nd goal went in----i thought they would have been up for the game as it was a Yorks v Lancs game and we had 2 sides of the ground................but nerves...
And most of our defeats away were early season when we were naively going gung ho at places like Norwich-Newcastle etc......we have been solider of late but will have to come out and have a real go on Sat so wouldnt be surprised if Town won or lost by 4-0
Remember that game Sturtz---they were dark days for Town after being in top league only 4 yrs previously-our big change of fortune recently has been new ground (1994) and new minted and Town fan chairman but the league table doesnt lie as they say and we need to prove we deserve to go up a tier...
Oldsmobile----no didnt come in 76 was def when Kindon scored a hat trick for us.We used (and still do) have a tremendous away following,Biggest drawback is this league is like Div 3 south with hardly any northern teams in.
Hillview--We will DEFINITELY play our strongest side but your point is a...
ps fair point about Stewart--he must be over 35 now so probably over the hill but has been a great player over the years.Big strong forwards like Lisbie worry our defence
Whatever happens in play offs not as serious as possible relegation and we have had our fair share of that ! Good thing about following Town is ive seen em in all 4 divisions over the years from Man U to Workington (when they were in lge)
Like the party idea Information ministry
Thanks Grecian55----------yes remember that pub.Was 1990's last time Town came down I think. Is that the best pub to go in ?
We are a noisy bunch and like a good pub sing song---any pubs not safe--coming on train. Is it walkable to ground from station ? Came on the coach in 90's--cant recall score...
Hello Exeter fans,
Coming down your way next weekend with many other Town fans----think we should sell out in what is bound to be a tense affair. We will need to try and hammer you for our very very outside chance of automatics. This may well play into your hands and leave gaps at the back...
