It's not if there's a will and all that. I said that someone had to want to take him and he would also need to want to go, which is what happened with Sanchez. Arsenal didn't force MU to take Sanchez, in the same way that MU didn't force Inter(?) to take him either. If no-one wants Ajose, or he digs his heels in and says he's staying to see out his contract, the only way we can get rid (if that's what we wanted) is to pay off his contract.
And so it appears they managed to find a way out with the seemingly intractable nigh impossible Ozil situation.

I guess therefore the Ajose situation is on a completely different planet.

Part of Aaron Martin's exclusion from the side the season before last was because for a bloke who is 6'5, he was pretty poor in dealing with a long ball in the air at him. He'd either be wearing divers boots and not get off the deck at all or be caught underneath it. When we went to three at the back, you'd find him in the middle with the lads either side of him picking up and him sweeping up the knock downs. thus making him look far better than he was the previous season when he had to engage in the ariel battle. As Matt wants to play with four at the back Martin was never going to last long.
3 at the back, 4 at the back, 5 at the back, fookin 10 at the back, Aaron Martin is still better than McCardle.

When the game plan suits him. When we played four at the back he got found out.

Lets be honest, Aaron Martin was not a good L2 centre back. Yes he is better than McCardle but that is not the standard which we should be gauging potential signings against.

I think he was a good League 2 CB. Not the type of player Taylor wanted, but certainly of a good standard in this division.

Sadly McCardle is exactly who we should be comparing him with, as McCardle was signed as a direct replacement. There's a wide variety of views about Aaron's strengths and weaknesses but even those who don't rate him very highly at all think McCardle is a substantial downgrade. As you've stated above.

Still better than McCardle, who looks like he's about to get found out almost every time he steps onto the pitch.

The really weird thing is listening back to Taylor talking about the players he released at the end of last season and saying how Moxey and Woodman were slowing down. He then signs his old mate McArdle who even if you are being kind is quite slow around the pitch. Those two and Aaron Martin must be wondering what went wrong If that’s the future......

My guess is that Taylor signed McCardle based more on what he knew of him from their time playing together, than any recent scouting information. I am basing this on nothing more than the evidence of McCardle's performances on the pitch but it's hard to see what anyone who saw him play recently might have thought he would bring to our team. Whoever thought we'd have Sweenz as our first choice RCB this season? Particularly after it seemed he might even find himself out in the cold with McCardle & Caprice signed in his preferred positions.
