I share that hope. With the diminishing influence of print media, the increasing social/environmental awareness of the young through social media, the young England squad being in the vanguard, these are the voters with a big future and it's not looking so bright. Rather than a new party, the Greens might come to the fore, as they have in Germany and elsewhere, or even Labour, being seen (and believed) to speak for 'the many', but there's work to be done there. My hope is that a generational change to politics occurs in the UK over the next 20 years and a party, other than the classic current main three parties, emerges with a social and environmental agenda, which captures the interest of today's young adults.
Most people wouldn't tolerate being lied to by anybody, be it their own child, a friend, a vicar, a doctor, their boss or manager or a local councillor. However, Tory MPs and their loyal foot soldiers tolerate it from our nation's leader, from within the 'mother of parliaments', and occasionally he becomes even more popular as a result. It's truly a sad state for this country to find itself in.
