If they think he's worth more and got options.No. If the £18m clause is true and someone offers that amount, Brentford have no choice but to accept it. Why would anyone pay more?

No they will offer £18m to Brentford and the "extra" value is offered to the player and his agent as the inducement to sign for them.If two clubs wanted him then surely to capture him they would offer more?
No you take the 1.8 off the 18 then we get our share. so its a percentage of their profit on himDoesn't the original 1.8million we received for him come out of our share of the selling price?

See my earlier post #4024. The article indicates as you say.If two clubs wanted him then surely to capture him they would offer more?
No it won't go higher, any club meeting the buyout clause can speak to Ollie . It is then up to him to choose which of those he wishes to go to, but whoever it might be only has to pay £1.8m to Brentford. Ollie and his agent can of course use the competition to drive up the personal terms on offer but that won affect what the Bees pay us. And of course Brentford can offer him better terms to induce him to stay, which would lead us to get nothing at present.I imagine £18 million is the starting price, could go a lot higher?
Then they offer Ollie more money, not Brentford. Once the buy out clause is activated Brentford have no say to whom he is sold.If they think he's worth more and got options.
