Looks like you are well on target to get out of the second tier in the Championship RP. Those two yeoman of the Lancs shires Alviro Petersen and Ashwell Prince both got double centuries today putting the Welsh to the sword and an innings defeat for them is in prospect giving your boys a good cushion.

Looks like you need 2 wins from 2 to get out of the group in the Blast though after putting the Cidermen out :( on Friday.

Will FIGJAM be back for the final pushes in any of the formats ?

Yes as good as day as we could have had not playing. Kent racking them up against Essex was welcome too and can hopefully strangle their hopes too. Glam losing and gaining at most 1 point would be marvellous.

2020 yes, need 2 wins but with 2 wins we will qualify barring a win by a ridiculous margin for Glamorgan over Gloucs. Ironic that it may come down to us or Sussex in winner takes all after the abandonment at Arundel with the horrific injuries. However we need to go to Lords first on Thursday and get the win.

FIGJAM - god knows. I think it was left open ended but the presumption as I understood it was now the England door had been shut, that'd be it. We've only got 1 first class game before the end of the Ashes, and that is in Colchester during the 4th test. He may want to come and play, make a big score whilst the Ashes are being surrendered at Trent Bridge just to make the point but to be frank we don't need him. If we do somehow make the 20/20 Q/F and then he may appear but for me time to move on - all ways.

after somersets diabolical performance against Derbyshire yesterday we couldn't even beat a village side! The cricket season has now taken a back seat as the footy stuff is just about to get going again!

The 50 over Cup has provided some good entertainment over the last fortnight. To name but 3, Northants beat Worcs despite being 0-3 off 3 balls and then 19-6, Gloucs scored 7 off the last ball to win against Derbys and then beat Leics by 1 run and Middx made their highest ever 1 day total but only squeezed home against Sussex in an absolute belter last night.

Amidst all that Surrey have quietely gone about their business using 12 players in 5 completed games, batting first in all of them and winning them all to reach the Q/F's The top 3 of Roy, Davies and Sangakara have 900 runs between them and the bowlers have taken wickets at the right times. I think we are in much the weaker group so even with a home draw, face a tough Q/F in 3 weeks.

It's back to Championship duty on Friday and a trip to Colchester before the One Day campaign finishes with a double cider at in form Gloucs and the next day, at woefully out of form Somerset.

Surrey have indeed done well in the 50 over Cup to be the first up for a Q/F. (clap) I think you are probably right that it is the weaker group. Somerset have been a huge disappointment and I will not bother to go to their last home game. Group B has everybody winning and losing in turn. Hampshire put in one good performance followed by a shocker. Jason's boys were absolutely shocking at the Ageas last Saturday and in turn Hampshire were abysmal against Essex last night. It remains to be seen if they get awarded both points following the debacle of the dangerous pitch at Cardiff on Sunday.

With the Hampshire Championship corpse twitching after the completion of the thrashing of Warwickshire this morning and the likely Notts win over Worcester, will Jason's boys be able to help further by putting Sussex to the sword at Lord's ? Three nipped out already in what looked a finely balanced game.

A quick wicket after lunch for Ravi Patel means it's 70/4, although there are threatening clouds in the air.

Shame he spent a lot of the season injured - Dawid Malan is a run machine this year. Averaging 100+ in the Championship, he's currently 148 not out in the 50 over cup as we put an inexperienced Glamorgan attack to the sword.

Back to the Championship tomorrow after the 20/20 finals day and the 50 over quarters sorted themselves out.

Not surprised to see 3 Northern teams make it through to finals day and even then Hampshire were given a helping hand by the weather. Brummy Bears must be fancied on home turf again - would like to see the venue for finals day moved around.

In the 50 over stuff, Surrey have a televised home Q/F against Kent next week which has 'upset' written all over it. Signs of some burnout amongst the Curran bretheren which Billings et al may fancy.

It was a good knock by Marcus Trescothick today, shame he couldn't go on to get a big score.
