Matt Oakley Signs for 4th Season

Exeter City have confirmed that Matt Oakley, 36, has signed for another season. The midfielderoakley will be signing for his 4th season, and it would seem that it will be for just the one season.

He has had an influence on the Grecians results, with him present we do better. We wrote this back in November, when he was out injured, and Exeter’s delicate season with their battle against relegation did improve with Oakley present. Having missed games from November to February he returned to feature in the 3-2 away win at Southend United on 15th February.

It had been speculated that he might replace Rob Edwards as assistant manager, but nothing has been said on that matter by the Club.

The new season will start with Portsmouth at home. Information on the fixtures list can be found at http://www.exeweb.com/2014/06/18/fixtures-for-201415-are-out/
